Opening of the Festival bistrot 

 
11.05.2009 - Opening of Festival Bistro winebar & more Merano WineFestival & Gourmet

On Friday 8th May 2009 Helmuth Köcher and Alex Barletta cut the ribbon to open Merano WineFestival & Gourmet’s new bar, the Festival Bistro wine bar & more in front of invited guests from Meran and the whole of Italy.

Helmuth Köcher is one of the founders, and the organiser, of Merano WineFestival & Gourmet, which is known for its selection and promotion of high quality wines and delicacies. Alex Barletta is a gastronomic expert and has gathered experience not only in Italy but also abroad. He creates light, healthy dishes which can be classed as bio light cuisine.

In the cellar of the patriarchal Angerheim that has recently been renovated, the guests tasted the wines and gastronomic specialities from South Tyrol, Trentino, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Aosta, Lombardy, Tuscany, Calabria, Campania, Emilia Romagna and Apulia until late at night.

Head chef Ylli Dede, a guest from Catania, specially created an original dish with smoked tuna belly that he served as a roulade with strawberries and kelp in a mandarin emulsion.

The evening was rounded of with music from the PeKaTo group from Brixen and melodies from the soloist Christine Bonell. People danced, laughed, tasted, ate, praised and were very happy. On leaving everyone hoped for the usual great success at the WineFestival in November.
