9.11.2009 The curtain falls on the 18th Merano International WineFestival & Culinaria
On Monday 9th November at 5 pm the doors of the Kurhaus closed on the 18th edition of the Merano International WineFestival & Culinaria and confirmed that Meran, without doubt, is the Italian capital of gastronomic excellence.
More than 5000 visitors filled the halls and rooms of the 8th century palace, 4500 tickets were sold and there were 300 accredited journalist and numerous VIPs. Queues in front of the entrance, regulated entrance in to the Kursaal, lively rooms, happy producers and a public that were competent and aware of quality.
Personalities who attended included Paolo Russi, President of the committee of the Chamber, Hans Berger, Assessor of Tourism and Agriculture from Bozen, Günther Januth, Mayor of Meran, Luciano D’Aponte Director of the Region Campania and Nazzareno DiChiara, President from Fremo Promuove.
Importers from every stage of the Euro Tour 2009, The Baltic States, Moscow, Munich, Vienna and also New York, Budapest and Krakow (Ukraine), were present. The secretary general of the Italian – South African Chamber of Commerce Mariagrazia Biancospino was present on the occasion of the presentation of the stages of the WorldTour 2010 on Sunday 8th November.
The press, mainly Italian, was represented by daily newspapers, but also specialist magazines, Media Partner from the sector, the RAI and other regional television companies and regional newspapers from Germany and Austria. A whole group of English journalists and one from Austria, guests from the EOS, Export Organisation from South Tyrol, from the Chamber of Commerce from Bozen, were present, and an organised trip for journalists from Germany was also arranged.
