Exclusive Presentation Rome 

 

First Presentation in Rome of the Programme of the Merano WineFestival & Gourmet taking place in Meran from 31st October to 9th November 2009

On Friday 2nd October at 11.30 a press conference of the Merano WineFestival & Gourmet took place in the International Wine Academy of Rome in Vicolo del Bottino 8 in Rome followed by a buffet and tasting of South Tyrolean wines in the covered garden of Il Palazzetto.

The Director of the IWAR, Ian D’Agata welcomed everyone and then gave the word to Helmuth Köcher, the president of the most elegant and most famous oenological festivals in Italy, Merano International WineFestival & Culinaria that is taking place for the 18th time this year. The collaboration between the two facilities has been proven over the last three years and in November of this year the 2010 edition of the Migliori vini d’Italia 2010 by D’Agata and Comparini will be presented in the Stadttheater Puccini in Meran.

The Merano WineFestival & Gourmet opens its doors on 31st October and will run till 9th November with top gastronomy, charming and luxury hotels, and fine dining guesthouses as a focal point. The best Italian head chefs will present various show cooking and numerous wine companies from the best wine growing regions of the world will be offering their wines for tasting.

The meeting was moderated by Ian D’Agata, the author of the wine guide Migliori vini d’Italia 2010 and Prezzo Piacere. The president of the Merano WineFestival & Gourmet, Helmut Köcher, presented the programme 2009, the statistics and news, the guide and the objects of this year’s 18th festival. Journalist and author Luigi Cremona talked about the two events GourmetHotelCollection and Locande del gusto and presented his this year’s choice of star chefs that will be present in the GourmetArena.
