Gourmet's Italia München résumé

11.05.2009 - Great Success of the 6th Edition of Gourmet’s Italia Munich

The first stage of the Merano WineFestival & Gourmet EuroTour 2009 was completed as a great success and accentuates the fruitful collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Munich.

The Künstlerhaus, a historical building in the centre of the city, provided the exclusive atmosphere for the presentation and tasting of the specialities that had been chosen by the Merano WineFestival & Gourmet.

About 100 wine and culinary producers representing the whole of Italy took part in the event on 26th and 27th April 2009, including 22 producers from the Region Calabria and 4 co-operatives.

The Region Campania, as partner of the EuroTour 2009, actively took part in the seminars “I Sapori del Gourmet’s Italia” whereby the tasting of the Falanghina and Aglianico guided by the journalist and author Monika Kellermann was particularly well loved.

The show cooking programme “La Cucina del Gourmet’s Italia” was moderated by the gourmet and author Dr. Peter Peter. Lino Scarallo, head chef of the restaurant Palazzo Petrucci in Naples entered his way into the hearts of the gourmets with his new creation of variation of black pig and variation of buffalo mozzarella. Also Arnold Paris, head chef in Hotel Ganischgerhof Mountain Resort & Spa, in Deutschnofen (BZ) surprised the guests with his own personal creations (Tortelloni, Risotto and White Wine Soup).

The president of the Merano WineFestival Helmuth Köcher, and the secretary general of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Munich Alessandro Marino expressed their pleasure of the presentation of the event and the number of visitors. Positive comments also came from the director of the Region Campania Mario Capuozzo as well as the journalist Dante Stefano Del Vecchio. For both of them the event in Munich was the perfect platform to present quality Italian produce at an acceptable price to the German market.

It has already been decided to repeat this event in Germany next year.
