Focal Point Future

1.10.2009 Focal Point Future

The Merano International WineFestival & Culinaria 2009 is looking to the future with confidence.

On Sunday 8th November 2009 the event Iuvenes is taking place in the Ohmannsaal and in the Palmengarten of the Kurhaus from 10 am to 6 pm.

This part of the 18th Merano International WineFestival is dedicated to 26 young and upcoming Italian producers who will present their wines. They are producers who have only been on the market for a maximum of ten years but whose produce is of exceptional quality and whose future is probably very rosy. Producers come from the regions of Abruzzo, Campania, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardy, Marche, Apulia, Sicily, Tuscany, Umbria and Veneto.

Reports from well known oenologists and personalities from the business are also part of this year’s Merano International WineFestival & Culinaria and starting on Monday 9th November they will present their philosophies and future projects in the Pavillon des Fleurs.

The first report is from the internationally famous oenologist Roberto Cipresso who will talk about his view of the wines of the future. Together with the Winemaking-Team he will take you on a journey through the fascinating world of Terroir and present wines from both the north and the south of the country that have made the terroir their concept. Our special guest is Attilio Scienza who will elaborate how the terroir connects the four areas laboratory, culture, meeting and tasting.
