The Merano WineFestival & Gourmet takes place from 31st October to 9th November 2009 in the beautiful town of Meran, the pearl of the Alps. Visitors are offered exclusive events with first class Italian and international wines as well as exquisite Italian delicacies on all 10 days. The Merano WineFestival & Gourmet is nationally the most prestigious oenogastronomic event and in Europe one of the most elegant festivals and over the years has grown to become a meeting point for trade experts and enthusiastic gourmets. The programme:
From 31st October to 3rd November 2009 the two events GourmetHotelCollection and Locande del Gusto will take place at the GourmetArena on the Thermenplatz. Luxury hotels and gourmet restaurants present their excellent cuisine and each head chef will offer their delicacies together with top class wines.
On Thursday 4th November the event Merano Wine & Jazz will take place in the GourmetArena from 7 – 12 pm. An event with first class wines and top music.
On Friday 6th November certified producers will present their organic and biodynamic produce at the bio&dynamica which will take place in the Pavillon des Fleurs in the Kurhaus for the first time this year. From 7 – 10 pm the opening evening of the 18th Merano International WineFestival & Culinaria will take place in the Kursaal of the Meran Kurhaus.
On Saturday 7th November the 18th Merano International WineFestival & Culinaria will take place in the rooms and halls of the Kurhaus from 10 am to 6 pm. The Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux will present their Châteaux in the Pavillon des Fleurs and the Deutschen Prädikats- und Qualitätsweingüter will present their Riesling in the Ohmannsaal and in the Palmengarten.
CookingXWine with Luigi Cremona and his star chefs will take place in the GourmetArena from 10 am to 8 pm.
At 10 am the first presentation of the Guida Vini buoni d’Italia 2010 Touring Editore will take place in the Stadttheater Puccini and at 6 pm the presentation of the Guida ai Migliori Vini d’Italia 2010 di D’Agata & Comparini.
At 3 pm a guided Riesling tasting will take place (advanced reservation only) with Gianluca Mazzella.
On Sunday 8th November the 18th Merano International WineFestival & Culinaria continues in the Kurhaus from 10 am to 6 pm. The Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux will present their produce in the Pavillon des Fleurs, the new event Vini Futuri, a view to the future, will be presented in the Ohmannsaal and in the Palmengarten.
In the GourmetArena CookingXWine with Luigi Cremona and his star chefs will take place from 10 am to 8 pm.
Monday 9th November 2009 is the last day of the 18th Merano International WineFestival & Culinaria in the Kurhaus and the doors are open from 10 am to 5 pm. Roberto Cipresso’s performance “Antique and new: the successful philosophy of tomorrow” will take place in the Pavillon des Fleurs. Champagne and Dulcis in fundo take place in the Ohmannsaal and in the Palmengarten.
In the GourmetArena CookingXWine with Luigi Cremona takes place from 10 am to 5 pm.
